Ian this is a great video and it helped me learn the pre trip inspection so that I knew what to say during my test.
I passed my CDL yesterday and this video was a big help. It gets to the point of what you need to know for the exam.

@thstheman its a shame you feel the need to deride my video, the video is of a real instructor performing his inspection as the DMV expect to see it performed and remembered and performed in the same way by the trainees.
As for getting under a vehicle on your test, this is totally outrageous of you to suggest anyone should.
there is nothing missed out in this video I can assure you the DMV were more than satisfied by the knowledge of the trainee when performing this.

I know it will, remember and recite it word for word and you wont go wrong, good luck.we found saying it and going through it in front of friends and other trainees worked very well on the nerves, that way you are not nervous when doing it front of the examiner.take it in turns and point out things that are missed and you stand a better chance of remembering yourself the things to say.

All that is in this video is all you need to pass your NY test, remember it word for word as the instructor explains and you will be fine, they dont want you to do the other side on the test for safety reasons, you will be on the street at that point and could be having passing traffic.
